Office work even on Holiday weeks?

With the new RTO changes coming, I got a question for the pre covid employees: How was the office hours flexibility during thanksgiving and christmas week? Did your manager allow you to not have to be in office during these two holidays weeks? Trying to gauge my level of expectations to this "flexibility" they're trying to bring back

Recently, people took time off in Nov and Dec, using their "mental" days, then the holidays. But their managers to them to still go in on holidays and weekends to get the "required badges in." I've been told by people in my company that they had to go in on weekends, Christmas Eve, and one went Christmas Day because she was so stressed by her managers.
I've them them all to go to HR. Well, the AI-version of it now.
They've said their managers told them (this was December) that holidays and weekends will no longer will count towards days off from required badge swipes.
Shizzles!

Prior to covid I would work at home at least two days a week. More if something popped up like a plumber coming over or something.
Then it was five years of working from home- never felt more productive. Or connected.

Now, I think it's time to go my merry way and see what the next chapter holds.

Good luck all.

"How was the office hours flexibility during thanksgiving and christmas week?" In the before times, there was no office requirement. We had already been working remotely for years. But to answer your question, "the office" was a ghost town, but we were trusted to do our jobs in the manner that worked best for us.

The company already "gives" you the full week of Christmas off unless you're in support. How much more flexible do you want them to be?

Such a weird question. This is really a questio for your manager. If they're a decent manager with ba--s, and if you aren't a low performer, they shouldn't have a problem telling you to WFH the other 3 days of Thanksgiving.

"Dell is still a thing?"

Yes, as one of the top 50 most successful companies in the world, it's still a thing.

For my team in ISG the pre-covid expectation was to be in the office 40 hours minimum a week, every week, and vacation/sick days counted against you on performance evals.

Dell is still a thing? I'm still on a Gateway with Windows 7. Get far away from Dell unless you still use AOL

Pre-covid no one really cared if you WFH once in awhile or two days in a row or whatever. It really came down to if your work was being performed and you were attending meetings/etc as needed.

I mean, many young people have only experienced remote work. So it’s a legit question. Such a fncking bootlicker.
