Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Health Insurance?

Hello!

  1. I'm evaluating an offer from Truist, and I'm curious whether health insurance policies have a waiting period or if all benefits kick in immediately. I'm particularly concerned about occupational therapy and fertility benefits that may fall under a waiting period.
  1. What is the standard vacation time for L112?

Thank you!

I would ask your HR contact, not a message board. 112 does have some great songs though.

I smell a HR plant fishing and trying to get some positive fake news in this site since most of the information here is not complimentary even though it is absolutely accurate.

You’re asking about corporate-level benefits and then asking a message board for single departments to avoid based on ….. dysfunction? But you’re “evaluatiing an offer”, which I’m assuming is for a specific job in a specific department in a specific place? Yet you’ve worked for “Several financial institutions, most of which have been disasters”? If you’re serious about this post and your career, keep looking.

Ask your recruiter or whoever is working with you from HR. Then, NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY, decline the offer. This is not a bank for you based on your benefits concerns. Maybe I don’t know what occupational therapy is, but why consider an employer or job where that is a primary concern??

Thank you for your responses. I have worked at several financial institutions, and most of them have been disasters—though the degree of dysfunction varied by department. If there are specific departments or LOBs you’d recommend avoiding, please do share.

4 weeks PTO, health insurance on day 1, 1 week sick pay (accrue max 80 hour rollover), 1 mental health day, ~13 holidays.

Waiting period for 401(k) match, student plan payment benefit & espp enrollment.

I asked for additional weeks vacation in lieu of salary, and they did not hesitate to give it to me. Best thing I ever did. Plus, you can purchase vacation days during annual enrollment. Days might get stressful, and you'll appreciate that extra time off. Good luck!

Come in with your eyes open. A lot of areas (most) are a disaster. Beware and don’t be delusional.

https://benefits.truist.com/benefits/enroll-changes
"New hires are eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following their date of hire."

https://benefits.truist.com/work-life/time-off/vacation.html
Vacation time is not based on pay grade, but on years of service and/or officer titles. There are many roles, especially those at the level you mention, that will "automatically" get you a certain officer title (usually after the 90 day new hire probationary period). These technically can be negotiated with your overall offer, but this is not true across the board and depends on a number of factors.
