Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Resigning and bonus distribution

Is there a policy regarding the annual bonus where you need to be employed at the time of payout? If you give a two-weeks notice now, then still eligble for bonus payment end Feb?

I looked this up in the US Pay Policy and I didn’t see anything explicit calling this out. I would wait until Feb 28th to be sure. That being said, I don’t think Shell HR is nimble enough to pull the rug on your bonus if you gave notice tomorrow.

Quit date should be the first one of a pay period.

Need to be on payroll on Feb 1 to get bonus paid (no matter what your last day is after that - it will just get paid separately). Bonus will be prorated for the days worked in previous year and there might be a minimum days to be met.

you are eligible and guaranteed for the full amount if you’ve worked one year from Feb 1 2024 to Feb 1 2025

you can quit on feb 1 and get the bonus

It’s a bonus you earned from FY 2024. It’s yours.

Two things

  1. If you resign now you still get the bonus
  2. You don’t need to give notice, you don’t owe this company sh**. Work your two weeks get paid the last pay check and say 1st of March I won’t be in the office. Trust me by Friday they will have forgotten about you.
