Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

It't not abt RTO it's about Sapience

For me this isn't about RTO. It's the micro tracking. I have gained 10 pounds because if I take two 15's to walk along with my lunch, I get questioned now why I am 6 working hours. So for me I could care less about being in an office. But when you tell me I cannot walk a few laps that's insane.

Sorry @n7+1jm198sjb but for grade 10 and up, that is incorrect. The company expects 9 hours in the office, 8 of which must be accounted for in sapience. That extra hour is to allow for moving between meetings, restroom breaks, etc.

This is why they distinguish between less than grade 10, that have 8 hour days, with 7 hours accounted for in sapience, and grade 10 or higher having the 9 hour day, 8 of which in sapience. They're not including lunch or breaks in either of those statements.

Managers and above really have been unilaterally mandated to have a minimum if 5 hours of unpaid overtime per week

Please take your laps, if you look at the health initiatives ( the one pushed through health insurance, where you earn some money back) it encourages you to walk hourly.
At least do your lap(s) every two hours or between your meeting.
No one cares. Or walk to a bathroom on a different floor.

9 hr day = 1 hour lunch + (2) 15 minute breaks by law. That is why their 8 hrs between swipes is misleading. If you need the mental break to take an hr. lunch, it is a 9 hr day at the office. No thank you.

@cy+1jm198sjb Some of us don't have children and want to take an hour lunch. Doesn't matter the reason

Um, federal labor laws ensure you can take breaks from your desk. Go for your walks.

Listen man, I sit next to SVP’s…they are on their phone scrolling and chilling more than I am. If they can have a chiller schedule so can we. Unless of course you think they deserve different rules. If we get the work done then I don’t give a rats a-s about how many hours I work. I don’t want to intentionally slow myself down just to meet the hours. “Ask for more work” sure I can do that, but we have a company culture where I will not get paid more for that so that’s out the window big guy I wasn’t born yesterday 😂.

Why not take a half hour lunch and still take your walks during that hour? That's a time management you issue and not a company issue.

You can't take an hour lunch and then two 15 min breaks in top of that.
