Performance Reviews? Terrible Salary Increase?

Has anyone gotten their performance review back and wants to commiserate? Working in the tech side I received a 5 and got a 2.5% raise…. I was blown away by the terrible salary increase. If this is a common theme across areas it seems like they are trying to push onshore employees out by any way possible.

1% raise, $400 bonus,,,and Andrew witty makes $23,000.000.00/yr, what's wrong with this picture. My evaluation was exemplary,,according to my supervisor,,but yet I'm only worth 1%. They WILL GET 1% OUT OF ME !!!

Optum used to be a great place to work. It has gone to he-l in a hand basket over the past several years. I have never felt so under valued after my performance review. I worked my ar-e off for a 1% increase? My manager had nothing but great things to say and yet…. a slap in the face. The universe is speaking loudly … time to move on. I am doing the job of 3 people and the company doesn’t care… we are all just numbers not people with families to support!

Most 3s in our department got 1%. 4s got 1.5. This is worse than last year.

A 5 rating in my experience is when you are slated for promotion. Rule of thumb in my area is you will only see it once in a job role and never again until you are to move to a higher title. I have seen it 2 X in 16 years The purse has always been tight at Optum. The ESOP used to be a good way to make up for it. Buy period use the lowest share price of the period then 15% discount was like printing money made some bank. Then some MBA had a project and saw money on the table and no look back now and only 10% ESOP discount. Better to max out roth 401k

You got a 2.5 % raise when the average was about 1%, that seems about right with a rating of 5. We have a job and honestly some folk's lives have changed drastically in the last month. I remember during years where no raises were given.

This year, are you kidding? The majority of UHG gets less than 2% merit every year it’s their dirty secret! Tell everyone who asks, its the best reason never to accept a job with this company. I got even and gave myself a raise by working 30-35hr work weeks and getting my job done because the middle managers have NO management dimensions and can’t project plan LOL! You do you but find a way to make up for the weekend work and urgent tasks. You may get one time bonus’s but after 14yrs my salary increased what 5yrs would be elsewhere!

Worker Bees did better than management. 5 got 1.5%.

That’s actually better than most of us get- Optum usually only gives about 1.5-2% merit increase. At least for the worker bees. C-suite do better, of course.

I've literally saved huge for the company and it offered me 2% 🤣 which hardly covers health insurance increment, forget about inflation!

5s merits used to start at 4%. I bet none of the executives bonuses or merits were impacted. After all, they are the only ones that really work hard. Merits of 1-3% not even cover the cost of inflation or the raise in benefits costs.

What's being shared is accurate. The merits are terrible.

That’s generous for them. Sad, but true. When I was in management decades ago, it was immediately 20% get nothing.

I did. Which was favorable, but it’s still laughable how terrible the merit increase is this year.
