Why do some people question why a new hire would be on this site? They’re the ones most a risk for being layed off of course they are on here that’s common sense

17 years of UP, I finally had the nerve to quit. The best thing I ever did. Now I enjoy working a normal job and weekends off. Of course I don't make the money of what I did with the railroad, due to the fact I was forced to work ot. I would rather make a few less dollars to have days with my family and friends. That right there is the most rewarding. Phuck UP and their Lil puppeteers!

@2peq Did your feelings get hurt, or can you just not handle the truth? You need to come to terms with the fact that the UP isn't a good place to work. The management there is poor, and worker morale is the lowest its ever been. I know this has already been mentioned but people have quit, and are continuing to quit. The UP started hiring felons through their 2nd chance initiative. Have you ever asked yourself why they decided to do that? That wasn't even an option for felons five years ago. Oh heres an idea for you as well. Don't post on here with a comment that dripping with expletives that the site blanks out through an algorithm based language blocker. It makes it easier for the rest of us to understand what your trying to say.

Anonymous- or should I say no ba--s——-I don’t give a sh-t about you, UP, anybody that works at UP- but y’all bi--h and complain on this worthless site like lance fritz is going to read it and think, “you know what , they are not happy, let me change it.” LMAO. Let’s talk common sense…..stay in a place “you dislike” or find something else? Seems pretty common sense to me right? But you, or anyone else on here won’t because once again, it’s all talk- it’s a place for you to think you have a voice , but yet not a fu----g person cares what the he-l you have to say. Go get some rest so you can help drive that stock price up. Let’s go!!!

Hey old head, yeah I did quit right along with a few others. You're in here complaining about others complaining, and yet you call them crybabies. Are you aware of that? What kind of new hire comes to a site where NO ONE has said anything positive about the UP, and asks if we're proud to work for them? It's a likely troll post, and if you had any common sense you should've recognized that. If you have a problem with the way this website is conducted, then maybe you should stay off it. If you have a problem with others sharing their own opinions, then maybe you should stay off of this site. I have no problem with someone asking for advice when it comes to working for the UP. The only problem with that idea is that they came to the absolute worst site to do it! So try being a part of the solution, instead being a big part of the problem. Arrogance will get you nowhere on this site!

Y’all are just a bunch of talk- to the newbie that asked the question- take it for what it’s worth on what they said- they bi--h and complain but did any of them say they quit? Nope! Just do what works best for you and don’t listen to the cry babies

A new hire? Give us a break. What the heck are you posting here if you are a newbie? UP use to be a great place to work for. Nowadays, it isn't a former shell of itself. I think you're a manager troll and should be ashamed of yourself. Go back under the bridge. Harass those trying to cross over and make a better life for themselves and their families...you nodhead.

No not proud. Won't recommend anyone go to work for UP. It is a job with a regular paycheck on schedule.

When I hired on in the 90’s and I told someone I worked for UP, I was always congratulated or complimented. This was from even lawyers and other college grads. Others would ask if I could get them a job here. Nowadays people look at me in shock w/ sympathy in their eyes. I feel bad for even telling them bcuz its like it depresses them just hearing and thinking about it.
