Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

CE jobs are safe

NCR has shown it’s love and admiration for its’s CE workforce with this past weeks CE Appreciation.
Don’t expect any layoffs of CE’s, Mike and the rest of upper management couldn’t sing the praises any louder. I think raises, better benefits with less mandatory OT are on the way only for the CE workforce.

Op is either management or just ignorant. If it’s the latter then it’s both

Tech is the most forward-looking of all industries, Axios' Felix Salmon notes. You don't hire for where you're at today — you hire for where you aspire to be tomorrow.

When tomorrow doesn't come, that means layoffs.

CE are not safe regardless of the bs appreciation day. They will fire you in a heartbeat.

From what I heard…..When NCR took on the Macys account they brought over some of the Macys IT. Those techs were making $40 per hour and just running Macy calls only (earning much much more then NCR CE’s). After a year of getting CE’s familiar with the Macys environment and trained….those legacy Macy IT guys were laid off, right before peak season a couple years back. Was common to see 30-40 Macys service calls in a work Q.

There has been a lot of talk recently with coverage of the Macys account. This retail account really has not been handled right since day one. The person who negotiated the deal with Macys Tech was let go a long time ago as NCR lost money the first year. There are less than 2 years left on the deal so will be interesting in 2024 as to what both sides decide to do. For people like me who cover the account we were ridiculed and not exactly welcomed when we started. The team is more welcoming now that we cover network calls which has helped the ATM guys tremendously but makes our lives miserable. The management needs to stop micro managing first of all and let the few experienced CEs do their job instead of thinking they always know what’s best. This account will go downhill fast without us experienced CEs who know what we’re doing.

They're baiting you until they're ready. Remember this is NCR not a first class company that means what they say.

Remains to be seen I hope you’re right. I’m not counting on it, too much bad has happened this past year. Upper Management has to put on a good facade. Then you deal with your TLs and TM and it’s a different story unfortunately.

CEs are being preped to eat Mike's s.h.i.t. straight from his a.s.s.h.o.l.e.

I think that was the whole point for the CE appreciation week.
