Thread regarding Meta / Facebook layoffs

If you received a layoff notice, or will at Meta due to being a slacker, you have been labeled as tainted goods

Best thing all you slackers can do now after being fired at Meta is to leave the Tech Industry behind, because having been fired at Meta for slacking you are not going to find a comparable job in the tech industry with a Meta firing handing over your head. What you should do is start a new career in the Labor industry. You could go into Construction industry and without any experience like most former Meta slackers don't have you will have to start as an entry-level Laborer or Goffer and work your way up. But unlike your slacking days at Meta, the Construction industry is tough jobs, and they will expect you slackers to put in an honest day of work working as a Labor. You will be expected to work even at the lowly Labor level or you will be fired without delay.
You could also go into the Plumbing industry but without a clue what a wrench is, former Meta Slackers will have to start at an entry level labor job, digging ditches.

You could also sell off most your stuff and finally get out of Mom's basement or garage and pack up and move to West Virginia and try and get a job as a Coal Miner once you get there. But again, Meta Slackers will find it foreign that even slackers will be expected to work in most labor industry jobs unlike your days of slacking when you worked at Meta before getting fired.

In summary, you got a Meta firing handing over your head even if Zuck called it a layoff. So, your next move should be to exit the Tech industry and move to West Virginia and look for a job working as a Coal Miner. If you get lucky and land a coal miner job, you can still wear all the Meta shirts you swiped when you ride the elevator shaft down into the mine to work your shift.

You’re like all the other id--ts. Keep group thinking and bend to the alter of the broligarchs you spineless, characterless poor excuse for humans. Go make fun of someone else and we all know the karma is coming for you too.

Coal Mining jobs in West Virginia pay pretty good. That's where I'd head if I get laid off. I'd go back to construction too where I was s framer and finish carpenter.

You all can sit on your behinds gaming and watching Hulu until your unemployment benefits run out and panic sets in.

Construction is not that bad. The pay is pretty good. Plenty of openings.

This is really mean spirited and rude. Let's not assume everyone impacted was truly under performing. When you are forced to staff rank and you happen to have a good team it can mean someone who is actually good could get laid off. I wish Meta hadn't announced "low performers" as it's a stigma for those trying to look around for another job. And no, I don't work at Meta.

Why are you so hostile towards ex-colleagues?

That's true at any job. Good workers always will have another position offered if they are any good. Unless you are in a volatile market with a risky future that you accepted knowing the risk. Buggy whip executives would have switched to tires or paint lines
