Looking for guidance as to whether or not you can be terminated without pay after turning in notice.

Please use this site for layoffs. You can google your employment questions. Most states in the US have at-will employment laws, allowing employers to terminate employees without cause or notice, including after giving a resignation notice.
Once you give your two weeks they can legally terminate you. It’s been done before. A few coworkers left the day of resignation to be safe. It all depends on your boss
If they terminate, they need to pay severance. Sounds like a win
