Given that some leadership has departed in the past few months from Exploration, Bakken, GOM/GOA, IT, and other areas...it raises concerns.
Oh my god, that comment about Ivy and Dean was brutal...ly accurate. What was crazy is everyone hated working on Ivy's team and they still promoted her after firing the one land department head who everyone actually liked for the first time in years. He was a nice guy who could have helped stopped the bleeding on morale. You have to wonder if gatling has any clue what is going on in land. Dean caused a lot people to leave also. It's true Hess has been bleeding talent and it's pretty rough for the few good ones sticking around for their payoff if the deal can just go through. People are getting paid 1 month salary per year to stay so that's over $100,000 for some people. Tough to walk away from that. Chevron will probably sell the Bakken pretty quickly and the department will get broken up then.

If you think CVX is making room for HESS employees then the rumors we are hearing about how stupid you are ring true. CVX only wants the offshore for our reserves. Everything else will be sold off immediately. Your land department is run by 2 people (fat lady named after a house plant and the guy who is as creepy as a mortician who is incompetent at best) have burned more bridges than anyone else in this industry. Employees here have already refused to work with them. There is a literal list. All the people who were decent have left HESS and the remainder are those who will not find employment easily. It will be fun to watch your management squirm like the worms they are. My wife worked for this sc-m and watching them fail is glorious.
