I felt like I was forced a reduction in SGL and salary because of my age? Has anyone taken legal action, against P66?
Any thoughts!

The layoffs were absolutely related to age. The corporate strategy has be public. Layoff old timers replace them with 30- early 40 year olds who think they know a heck of a lot more than they do.
Time will tell, but when you see the talent and experience they tossed to stronger companies, you have to wonder what P66 expects.
A employee with 30 years experience has TWICE the experiece the age of choosel.
That equals a lot of intellectual infrastructure equating to millions.
I thought the papers that you signed on your last day if you're over 40 essentially acknowledged that this was not targeted age discrimination? From what I heard, they covered themselves pretty well in that department
I know of instances where individuals were denied promotions due to pregnancy. A lot of protected classes have taken hits at Phillips
I don’t know who all got fired from R&D but the few I knew were older and had done great work in the past. It would be interesting to see if there was an age pattern.
Why is the same person posting multiple replies as different people?
I get it - you are old and let go. Now you are bitter.
But fact: If you are trying to save money by reducing wages, which demographic has the most to give up?
It’s an uphill battle unethical corporate HR folks who s_ck up to their CRHO and lawyers with consultants will spin narrative to their advantage.
I was part of the WEP and took the layoff rather than lower sgl and pay. And I am over 55 as well. How can we get together and look into a class action case.
Any thoughts? I still am pi---d at the way it was done.
Has anyone thought about a class action? Most of the people I know that were laid off were over 50.
It's very difficult to prove age discrimination, and the current political climates means finding a sympathetic judge will be as easy as finding a unicorn. But if you can find a lawyer willing to take you on, go for it
The way they executed the "Work Elimination Program" was unethical. Yet they pride themselves on ethics...
I think I was laid off because of my age. I talked to a lawyer who said it was probable that I was singled out because of my age but it would take a long time to possibly win and it would be hard to be awarded more than my severance.
It left a bad taste in my mouth but I went ahead and signed the release.
Your case is different so it might be worth it to secretly consult with a lawyer.
