Kroger cuts hundreds of jobs at Cincinnati headquarters, other local facilities

The job cuts, which took place late last week, include people at Kroger’s downtown headquarters, its 84.51 data compilation and analysis unit at Fifth and Race streets downtown and its Kroger Technology & Digital team in Blue Ash and downtown in the Atrium Two building, those sources said.

To everyone impacted today (3/13) by 84.51 restructuring, you won’t be forgotten…some of the smartest, kindest, most genuine people I’ve had the privilege of calling my colleagues throughout chapters of my career.

Agreed. Kroger's complicated "sales" are designed to keep bouncing you around the store, hoping you'll find more things to buy.
Aldi is expanding, and is going to whip Kroger's butt. No silly sales, no bouncing around the store, no need to give them your personal data so they can monetize it. Aldi's edge isn't only their lower prices; it's the time it takes to get in and out of the store. As more people realize this, Kroger's model will be uncompetitive.

Well I guess Rodney McMuffin is resigning.
Maybe Walmart will pick him up or some other competing grocery chain.

That's how Wal Mart moved up the ranks - Completely agree with your statement ~ "Most people don't want to buy 3 or 5 more of an item just to save $$. Just give us the lower price so we can decide how many we would like to buy."

Now that Amazon has entered the grocery business, it's just a matter of time before Kroger/Albertsons gets reduced to a small business, or obselete.

What did everyone think would happen after the failed merger. I knew what was coming.
Rodney McMuffin his nickname should step down for his fullish attempt that put both grocers at a disadvantage .
He is an id--t that should not be running Kroger . I work in Store management for Kroger and I can tell you he is an id--t that says the company cares about employees but really they don't. Pay and Medical benefits and retirement are the main issue for employees so just care of them other chains are doing a better job than Kroger Period.
Kroger is really worried about how the heck Wal Mart moved up in the ranks with customers while kroger was just kinda flat. Well Wal-Mart has stepped up there game Alot. Cleaner stores a bit nicer stores are going a long way in addition to lower prices. Consumers are noticing and Kroger is losing market share in a lot of areas to Walmart just for this fact. Most people don't want to buy 3 or 5 more of an item just to save $$. Just give us the lower price so we can decide how many we would like to buy. We have so many different Sales going on like reg sales then digital sales then low price buy 3 or more and buy 5 or more . People just want to pay a lower price period and then let them decide on how many they should buy.
You listening Rodney McMuffin.
