At least we aren’t bp

Imagine what they’re going through with bad stock performance, layoffs and an activist investor knocking at the door lol

We aren't BP? Are you sure about that?

What if both Shell and BP self-identify as good companies?

BP and Shell merger would be like one drunk holding up the other drunk while he fumbles for the car keys.

Nothing BP can't blow up...platforms, gas plants etc. Does combining two damaged companies make a better one. BVB and his gang really damaged Shell. Yet shareholders let him slide into a cush retirement while letting thousands of quality people go. Nice strategy.

Shell buying a midsize independent to get back into USA onshore would be so hilarious. I hope it comes true for the laughs

I wish we were Chevron or Exxon.

RRRR! record skips! Who thinks that either Chevron or ExxonMobil isn't a better company than Shell? To be clear, I mean Shell today, not the glory days of Shell.

Pointless bickering about them when we have an insane person on the wheel. Roles will be reversed as always. It's all about who can be more ruthless in the end.

We don’t want any part of BP. That company is an absolute dumpster fire

if shell has a brain they’ll figure out how to get one of the remaining mid size independents

devon, eog, hilcorp, apache

it won’t be easy, shell is cash poor

and it would fit into the rumored plan of relocating shell corporate to america and listing on the NYSE as well. seems like they want to bail on the UK given the north sea divestment via JV

let BP rot. hopefully they talk about how doomed they are on their layoff page since they are doomed.

Ya' know, on the BP version of this site they are also talking about merger with Shell. They also see a Shell BP merger as a remote possibility but not shocking because it has been discussed so many times for so many years.
I think we all agree that merger isn't the most advantageous for either company.

Je$u$, take the wheel!

Not so sure about the ‘BP has more technical expertise’ part.

Haha, Shell is the same as bp. Just made the pivot back to oil and gas 12 months earlier. But bp have managed head count better, there’s still more cuts to come for shell. And they have more technical expertise and less middle managers.

lol from all of those you listed, the only one you’re missing is an activist investor. Are we really that different?

we’re gonna merge with them because it’s the cheapest way to get more assets
