Changes to Salary Ranges and hiding of PIR

Rumours going round that the company has increased some of the salary brackets (in line with market) without a commensurate increase in pay for those already in role. This would be an effective reduction in PIR but that's now hidden to staff as their PIR is no longer visible.

Yet another reason to walk if true.

Endless talk on PIR and salary… was this posted by someone in the East?

Didn’t know tiering was a naming convention. I know that most trading commercial roles in the US under T&S are tier 2 then. Basically, a tier 2 JG-1 = tier 1 JG, so tier 2 JG 4 = tier 1 JG 3 and so on. I have seen some higher ranges so a tier 3 for upstream roles makes sense. My LM has been pushing to upgrade our role to tier 2 and gets blocked by HR it’s frustrating. Our team sends countless number of competing job postings and have even lost a couple. No dice.

Are there any non-Technical commercial/business roles in Tier 2 or are they all Tier 1?

Wow. JG3 Tier 3 is higher than JG2 Tier 1!

What roles are Tier 2?

In the USA, the Standard/Tier 1 pay structure remains the same since 2023.
Yet the deepwater Tier 3 range increased again. The gap is now 34%.

JG3 Tier 1 146-218k
JG3 Tier 3 195-293k

You can confirm this in job postings.

BTW, having the range increase is a good thing. It means you lower in range and you'd get a higher raise according to the salary management chart. And if you're at the top of the range, it gives you some room to actually get a raise.

This has always been the case - there’s no commitment to maintaining PIR. It’s even explained in the global pay policies, so nothing about it is hidden or sneaky

Salary ranges are included on US job postings. Just look at the midpoint.
