With the forced return to office, leadership has made it clear that employee well-being and flexibility are not priorities, not that anybody with a brain thought otherwise.
If they demand strict compliance with attendance policies, then we should match that with strict compliance to every policy, especially the ones they conveniently ignore when it benefits them.
Since they do not value our time, we will make sure every minute is spent exactly as required, no more, no less. If they want us in the office, they are going to feel it.
Follow Every Policy to the Letter:
- Someone pings you for help ask for a ticket, every single time
- If a task requires a change request, do not touch it without one, no matter how simple.
- Let the process play out. The more time it takes, the better.
- If approvals are needed, wait for them. No shortcuts. No exceptions.
- If something requires escalation, escalate it. Do not just fix it because it is urgent.
Stick to Your Job Description:
- If it is not your responsibility, do not pick it up.
- If extra tasks need doing, make sure they go through proper channels. No favors. No stepping in to save the day.
Respect Your Time:
- Start on time, leave on time. No more unpaid overtime.
- Take your full breaks and lunch every time.
Make the Process Work for You:
- If change management slows things down, let it. That is the process.
- If approvals take longer than management likes, let them wait.
- If an incident needs formal reporting, take your time to write it up properly. Every detail, every step, every policy followed.
Companies rely on employees going the extra mile, cutting corners, and picking up slack to keep things running smoothly. By strictly following their own rules, nothing more, nothing less, we shift the burden back to them. If they want efficiency, they must invest in it. If they want cooperation, they must earn it.
They wanted this, so let us give it to them.
No more, no less.
