Compared to competitors, Intel pays way more. Most of people cant find same salary job in current market.

I call BS on this too. I know 8 people that have left Intel since the VSP and gotten rehired elsewhere, the most recent one last week. Without exception ALL of them have made more than 15% more base and 30-100% more in TCOMP. Only 2 that I know are still looking but have had multiple interviews.
The support groups are well below what they can make in even smaller companies.
Seen many of them put in a couple years then bolt, almost always to better work and pay.
Fab is maybe a bit more competitive but the compensation at the company all goes to the top few thousand people.
Its a pyramid and most are at the bottom.
Typical market pay (total comp) is 2-2.5x of Intel depending on location. Like others mentioned, base is about same as Intel (now low), but rsu is like 4-5x

A recruiter from apple asked me 3 times (at different times during phone screen and interview scheduling process) if I am part of Nov layoff and still employed. When I said no, she then asked me if I received the VSP link in email.
At the end of the interview I was so disappointed and hurt, I didnt care to know what the outcome is. Got a rejection email next week.
Let’s hire someone away from Intel’s strategy team!

Intel often underpromotes people.
When they jump ship they get properly graded and they do get more base pay as a result
I agree that external companies will low ball Intel engineer at the moment , so if you think that your role could be a risk at intel , then much better to take external offer , kick a-s in your work and pretty sure you can climb ladders in the new company if you are good …
Yes and also we are desperate-so other companies will low ball us. Also we are seen as failures so do not expect to get an increase in role or even the same . Swallow pride a take demotion
Intel pays better in base but peanuts in stock , it did change somewhat but not a whole lot , so yeah you may not find same base outside but options/rsu could be way better compared to Intel and in the end it do end up making the difference , see that all Nvidia engineers are millionaire now …
