Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Schwab is like Hospice for your career

Horrible senior management they use people over work them and pay is very low for the industry. From my experience Top management only manages up. Useless make work form over function meetings and projects so middle managers can show their "clueless" superiors "Quality" work being performed . No career advancement and lots of broken promises. Truly one of the worst most unprofessional firms in the industry in my professional opinion. Balt Wettinger made this once great place to work indeed the Hospice for people hoping to have a career in finance.

STS.

Managing up = kissing butt

They are great. There are no problems without solutions. Their feedback saved the company.

Tiny causes more problems than any other EC member. Over budget. Failed systems. Outages. D-mb ideas.

Seriously. Never, ever look at a skip level as an opportunity to share issues and headwinds. Those do not exist. There are a few exceptions depending on your level. DL, for example. But even he is duplicitous.

Once during a skip level when I shared issues and headwinds, I was told to manage up. Why didn't I think of that!

100% agree. It seems what leadership values most is ‘managing up’ - i.e. making them feel important. It is all about feeding their egos, not actual talent or hard work. IMO everyone on a team should be valued, not just the people who kiss up the best.

Also it’s sort of sad for whoever they’ve got on this site working overtime to get posts taken down instead of actually listening to valid concerns people are sharing.
