Jealous of you but happy for you. Can’t wait till it’s my turn.
Same here. I almost offered myself up last fall. Honestly didn't have a bad experience at Dell it was just time for something new. The writing was on the wall with the RTO nonsense and constant layoffs. Nice to get a severance and be on my way. First day post Dell was pretty relaxing.
I took severance in October after requesting it from my manager back in May/June. Best decision I’ve ever made. There were no roles internally, no promotions and a constant stream of changing managers and directors. Am in a new role now with a similar package. The time off was a blessing.

waking up to a 10-20y anniversary at Dell is much worse?
You were ok with being sub-avg for decades.
Truth me.
After a couple months later, when you run out of package, you will start to feel huge stress again.
I’m glad it’s working out for you. Best of luck
Yes. Same experience. Couldn't have been happier getting a package to leave after forced RTO nonsense.
I was hitting the 4 year mark and saw that dell entry on my resume as a growing stain.
I know it sounds dramatic, but it felt for each day I was there a little piece of me was dying inside.
Goes to show what Dell has become when employees are happy after being let go. Dell was once a great company to work for, not so much now.
I felt the same way. Like a great weight was lifted off my shoulder. I never worked at such a toxic company in my life. A company that keeps a toxic abusive manager that abuses their direct reports.
what package did you get?
