Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Today 2/6 is my separation date

But I have an interview scheduled for today. Will they likely try to push it through to make me an offer today to avoid having to pay out severance? Assuming they want to make an offer anyway. Can anyone confirm if hiring managers are pushed to do this?

It did not work that way for me. I was contacted for an internal role the day before notified of RIF. Completed 2 rounds of interviews that were supposed to be expedited, they were sort of, but was not selected, but informed after spearing date. A week later I was contacted about a rehire role, but chose to withdraw. Needed to decompress at that point. These roles were GL 30 and 31.

HR is very good about letting hiring managers know about people being riffed.
Most decent hiring managers will seriously consider someone on the way out.good karma and all.

If you are offered a job within 10% of your salary and refuse it, you forfeit your severance

New position or severance?

You might get an option to choose one of both (based on my personal experience)
