Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Ignoring it. Just getting on with work.

Im too busy keeping customers happy and winning business to stop and worry about where Im working from.

Full remote is a d-mb idea. RTO is a d-mb idea. My team has a lot of great work to do, fantastic customers and the collaboration is never a problem. We don't use email so the concern about long email convo's isn't a thing, teams is decisions made and done. Pick up the phone or go visit a customer.

If I work from home its to get work done, if Im onsite its because I should be. If I go to the office it is absolutely not to get work done. Go see a customer. There isn't black and white.

If my boss is more concerned about where i'm working from than what I am doing then one of us is doing it wrong.

I'm glad you don't have to worry about tbe cost of commuting. I did the math and driving into the office 5x a week is effectively a 7% paycut. I'm probably one of the few that actually want to stay, but starting march 3rd I'll no longer be able to afford it unless by some miracle I get a significant pay raise (for my team 3% seems to be generous) and/or gas prices drop significantly.

the original poster is obviously from sales. As long as he or she knows that even though sales people bring in all the business they are seen as the most expendable. The second your numbers drop - you're history. So keep making the customers happy, keep earning those commisions but be advised that no one at Dell is making long term plans around you.

Michael Dell proved, in his book, that he's proud of what he built - and he should be. But now Dell seems to be crumbling at the foundatiion and he doesn't realize it.
DS made a half-hearted admission that management was wrong to advocate remote work as the future. His attitude seemed to be "su-k it up, we were wrong but you'll bear the brunt of it."

Sounds like the same tired story from the person on the ‘Grow up’ thread. If you’re so damn busy why you on here gloating again?

Say you're from Sales without saying you're from Sales.

It’s TE-T. And if you’re not just su-king off of it you’re doing yourself a disservice. Making rich a--holes richer while they watch your life go to sh-t is not great. Just take their money, do the minimal amount of work and enjoy!

If you’re su-king on the teet, you shouldn't be.
