Dept of Education crackdown

Hearing news that Trump plans to shutdown the department of education. Would this have severe impact on Staples contract businesses?

It may have a slight impact, but generally speaking, most educational funding comes from the state and local level.

Much of what the department of education does relates to student loans for higher education, although some funds do make their way to two districts.

Like the other person said, states are likely to fill the Gap with additional State funding.

It might, as part of the federal budgeting overall. However, I can see the states taking up the slack (especially the net-contributor states like NY and CA, which will likely reduce their contributions to the federal government as a result). It won't be a 100% offset, but it will be mitigated to an extent, I expect.
