My former coworker got laid off while she was on maternity leave…. She got a new job thankfully.
Intel is now harassing her saying she owes them 150 dollars because they overpaid her health insurance last year, yet they can’t tell her how they came to this calculation.
This is so embarrassing for them. I hope she doesn’t pay it
They did similar to me. Said they overpaid by one day. Then I called them out for underpaying sabbatical by one day and told them to stop harassing and call it even. Documented everything and they went away to fail others similarly. So glad to be out and thriving elsewhere.
i had a wise hr exec once tell me to never pay intel back a $ if they overpaid. they will ask but will never do anymore than that. its not worth there time (and i my case it was $20000). costs too much and the public embarrassment factor would stop them from doing anymore than sending a letter asking. i never paid it back. they never asked.
If they can't explain why they believe they are owed the money they have no claim. Otherwise everyone owes me $150.

Yes it’s me - I asked them for a breakdown of this error and they cannot provide it, so I will not pay it. I am not expecting any other money from them…I have moved on to a better job.
Intel always failed at basic arithmetic. Maybe it was the FDIV bug.
Unless they are withholding other $$$ until they get their measly $150, I would not pay it. Petty
