I'm sure I'm not the only one that notices this, but the office keeps looking more and more empty every week.. I'm sure this is why people are probably going to be using up all their time before the end of the year because they just can't take being in the office. They are tired of being micro-managed, tired of doing double and triple the work and
nothing changes..Whats even the purpose of Employee of the quarter/month or whatever it is these days when A. The same people get nominated and win, and B. Nobody even cares about this nomination anymore. I can't stress enough the lack of morale that's happening.. But hey, let's make the morale even worse by not even send out a recognition email of Black history month....

NOBODY WANTS TO BE IN THE OFFICE! the ones that do are losers that use that time to gossip and bullsh-t or the ones that want to get out of their house and away from their spouse.
They ki-led the internship program? Even as someone caught up in the July layoff, I'm sorry to hear that. That seems like a short-sided place to cut, and can't even cost that much (although I guess if you don't hire anyone does an internship program even matter?) I probably shouldn't be, but I'm slightly surprised by that one.
Keep posting these updates, when you work somewhere for a long time you're still intellectually curious to hear what the he-l is going on after you're there (for some people anyway). Have to admit the recent company financials were a bit stronger than I expected, even though it still feels like a powder keg. What's that next big idea? And is the company set up to capitalize on it.
Sammy says…
Dictatorship!
I've noticed whole areas are dark and empty at my office. Then I'm told they all work from home now full time. Huh?I thought we were ALL coming into the office more whilst some don't have to at all? How does that work? Total BS that's how. And nope they are not a sales group but I'm pi---d. Things are so unfair.
So very, very sad to read what's happening inside Canon USA these days. From the outside, Canon would seem to be successful, employees treated well and with respect, and the company would be very active in the local community, creating jobs and inspiring future leaders, etc. But the reality is, the company has failed on many promises it made to the local government and taxpayers when they opened their new facility in Melville. They've ruined careers and families through countless layoffs and mis-management. They have done nothing to stimulate the local economy and business growth - one can argue that they have had a negative impact since moving to Melville. And, they don't even offer a Summer internship program anymore for students to get exposure and work experience. Shame on you, Canon...
All great points. Which leads me to ask the question:
Can anyone name a single thing that has gotten better since January 2024 when Sammy took over as CEO? Seriously.
It honestly seems like things get worse by the day. The hallways, desks, cafeteria are all empty these days. Nobody works hard. Nobody cares. Nobody collaborates with each other.
This just feels like the end of Canon is in site.
You can surely bet you will get an “Asian American And Pacific Islander Heritage Month” email blast at precisely 8:30 AM on May 1st.
That missing Black History month acknowledgement was the ultimate fu-k you! The company don’t care about their workers = employees don’t care about producing! People are quitting, morale left the building!
