Herzo Tech will be completely shut down in the 2025 layoff, with some teams from business also affected.
This initial phase of the layoff will impact most of the M3 M4 and lower levels, with some M2 positions also being impacted.
A number of M2 roles with a minimum viable team or greenhorn shadowed teams in the tech hubs, will be temporary retained in Herzo to oversee the transition and knowledge transfer to Porto, Zaragoza, and India, before ultimately being let go.
The remaining M1 roles will be relocated or consolidated to the hubs starting end of this year and early next year.
Additionally the Tech related operational HR functions at Herzo will be eliminated.
Meetings were already held in the hubs and it was communicated that there will be an increase in tasks and responsibilities starting April because of the Herzo layoffs.

OMG people from Germany are being salty about people from other countries/cultures when have I seen that before...?
I do not understand who is left to let go. Many people voluntarily resigned already both individual contributor & leadership level even way before lay off announcements.
The Spanish bully you mean…he’s all about retaliation. I know a few stories…
Let’s not forget that the Spanish bull FC made sure he would get promoted and therefore costs in Zaragoza are even higher. He looked after himself first. Selfish pr--k!
...what about the people who are working in Zaragoza but living in other countries?
People thinking ZAR saves money on cost per head need a reality check. The cost to employ an individual, as in total cost burden to the employer - is a lot higher when you take into account taxation and costs that must be paid to the government for social services etc.
Added with this is the reduced working hours, holidays, siestas and you need generally 1.75x the heads to equal the same hours of availability you can find elsewhere.
All these factors added up equal minimal savings if any. This is a well studied factor.

Mr AR has set up the techhub pretty much as a services company and operates from glass doors. No wonder his first line is also from his previous company. And whoever was not from it - had to leave or have left. It would be easier for Mr CFO to sell it off as well like some other companies.
India Tech is very unorganized and super chaotic as the best talent goes to Big tech and 100s of entrepreneurs paying the big buck in India. More so, the HR lady is one of Michelle’s blue eyed girl who thinks she controls everything and constantly threatens and demeans employees as well as violate global norms. She treats tech hub as her kingdom and wants to run it her way. High attrition and talent that doesn’t want to work from the city let alone from the office is not where we should move to plus the hassle of FairPlay’s which are not taken seriously by HR which is more often than not the perpetrator.
Probably Shanghai is the only office which works longer than ZGZ. Rest are 9-5 corp life
India Tech hubs is completely ineffective and chaotic, it's actually a cost black hole. Senior management has no clue what will hit them if they think they will do tech directly from there.
ZGZ is a bit better but people work low hours, are out of touch with business and it's difficult to hire more.
@150+1jkbvtwnh Nike is hiring a ton after laying off 12% of their HQ staff in the last year, so not sure the tactic isn’t similar.
It’s m about shifting funds and resources to stay afloat for the long term because fact is bookings in for SP26 so they can see how well the company may or may not perform.
Some people from ZGZ are actually dreaming about this? Yeah, sure, makes perfect sense—for you, at least. Why not pitch this genius idea to Nike too? After all, they’re still hiring plenty in their U.S. HQ. I’m sure they’d love to slash costs by moving to ZGZ. You guys keep coming up with absolutely terrible ideas, and thank God top management isn’t entertaining your delusional nonsense. Get a life and try being an honorable human being instead of spreading misinformation to manipulate people.
True or not, it does make sense. If you remember not too long ago, there were official talks of moving Tech completely out of HZO. As HZO was supposed to be the place for stakeholders, managers and all the rulling class in adidas. Not so long afterwards and after the talks about an adidas SOFIA(TECH) office fell through(the rise of the Kanye anti-semitic era and the start of the financial crysis in adidas), ZGZ became the tech hub for adidas. And lets be honest about it - it really makes sense. Just talking about the basic of costs - the salaries of developers. Adidas would be straight up saving at the very least 30% per person just from salaries. Recently it's already noticable in the number of developers/higher level tech managers being hired - 99,9% of them are in ZGZ. Also most of the architects are also there. I know a lot of people in HZO getting shafted on promotions with some of the best bullsh-t I've heard from the interviewing people, which were ding ding ding located in ZGZ and that was long before the layoff announcement.
So it really makes sense, I would say it won't be as apocalyptic as OP mentions, but the plan is probably true. And the timing also makes sense - they did it in times of financial recovery for the company, so if things start detiorating - they have the time and also the finances to fill up the needed gaps. Not so different from what other Tech companies have done with layoffs.
bs
It could also be HR pushing people to accept whatever they will throw at them. What a f* up.
total bullsh-t…
Someone is trying to freak out people to volunteer in order to secure is own job. Shame on you!
Honestly I think there's some merit to what was said in the first post.
Adidas has been quietly letting people go for some time now, despite trying to keep it under wraps. I'm just glad I managed to get out on time on one of the occasions, but others who left didn't exactly part on good terms.
It's likely that some folks are still pretty upset about how things went down.
Hey all! Understand that all of this are rumors, as I'm in interview process there, could you please tell me what "tech" does in HZO just for my info?
agree tomany comments before, what a complete nonsense. the inital post is truely from someone internal but defintely not from someone who knows anything. all you do is spreading your complete nonsense and whatever frustration you have on all the good people who still work here. we all know this is not an easy topic but shame on you for putting people at unease with your made up story.
Why?
lol - that is such fiction you might as well say teleportation and working remote from Mars is in the plan too.
Stupidest idea i’ve heard lately 😂
Nonsense
What about other departments?
True or not! There will be an impact! Eventually feels like tech will majorly move out of HZO for sure , a matter of time.
The only problem with this approach is they did not inform the tech yet:) however there are some teams out of tech that has been informed to look for job.
The numbers are matching if we take roles into account. And the hubs were already informed about this, so I think the OP might be right.
Totally nonsense.
