Ex-VMW guy here, who decided to leave BC last year for a mid-senior position at one of the brand-name industry leaders in security... If you are early- to mid-career and still working at CB/Symantec, and you want to continue your career in the security space, then you seriously need to leave. You are working with technologies that are stuck in an architectural cul-de-sac far far far far from where this industry is heading. Every year you stay, puts your skills and the perception of your professional brand further behind the curve in this cut-throat industry. I know this sounds awfully harsh, but it's the honest truth and deep down I'll bet you agree.
Stop crying about your RSUs and move to another cyber security company.
HT had an interested buyer for CB. The deal broke down and did not close. At this point, there are no interested buyers for CB. Now, the goal is to market "old sh..t technology" with "older sh..t technology" to have a complete "end to end sh..t cyber security portfolio". Wake up. Customer are not going to invest in this technology and the existing customers are trying to move off as fast as they can.

No. Who will buy those ancient product lines?
The only thing spinning off is the OP
While losing your RSU is unfortunate, holding onto resentment or frustration can take a toll on your health, resulting in a double setback. I encourage you to focus on moving forward and channel your energy into positive actions
Nobody is going to buy that sh-t!
Why would they do this when they had the chance to spin Carbon Black off a year ago?
