Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

CEO

Look at stock performance since GM took over. All time high shortly after he became CEO based on what was in the pipeline, then a four year free fall with no recovery in sight. While the overall equity markets have gained mightily over the past few years, MDT is down huge from its highs and remains dead money. How much more time is this board going to give this guy? DEI hasn’t produced positive results anywhere, not in government or the private sector, and that is why it is being widely jettisoned. But I haven’t heard any plans to cease Martha’s aggressive DEI initiatives at MDT. What is the board waiting for?

Are we sure this poster even works at MDT?

DEI isn't the sole issue but one among several. It exemplifies the self-congratulatory nature of our current leadership.

Claiming DEI is the issue is about as bigoted as it gets, man! Wake up the world changed and you need to catch up.

What is the board waiting for? Neutron Geoff is doing exactly what they want him to do by extracting value from the company and hand it to the shareholders.

Medtronic has continually increased the dividend which is wholly funded by the free cash flow.

From the boards perspective, it isn’t about growth and investing in the company and people, it’s how do you squeeze every last drop out of the stone and hand it over to the shareholders.

It’s the GE way…

Just hire the most qualified individuals and back off on emphasizing what percentage of this group or that group we should be hiring and we'll all be fine.

Of course, once we've all been replaced by lower-cost resources from elsewhere, DEI will mean hiring more white people.

Medtronics problems are not from DEI. they are from GEOFF and from EXCOM. Bad strategy, poor execution with accountability only for underlings, and a lack of experience in Medical devices leads to what you see today. things are not going to turn around until Geoff is replaced - thats the fact. He lacks the capability to fix the problems he has created as do most of the leaders he brought in from all over.

The fact you people blame “DEI” for Medtronic performance instead of the mediocre, old white men that have run this company into the ground is hilarious and pathetic. Open up your eyes

Keep your receipts. What they are doing is illegal? See supreme court ruling. There are several firms taking cases.

All DEI related and honest discussions are removed from this site. Check previous discussions, it appears that Medtronic may have bought this layoff dot com site to suppress free & honest discussions by employees.
