Glad I'm not a sales colleague. Just a lowly back of house person
GROW behaviors will be hammered into you every day
One of Americas longest running department stores...
...conducting itself perpetually like a damn Startup. Jesus help us.
As you will hear more about next week, the new culture is really about having to meet specific performance expectations to keep you position. While we are dressing this change up as elevating the customer experience, what we are really doing is implementing a system that will add a lot more stick and a lot less carrot to how everyone who works at store level is engaged.
When the company reduces headcount, hours, and sales plans significantly, the only way to try and get even more out of the already overworked salaried and drastically underpaid hourly employees is apparently changing to a culture where everyone is afraid of losing their jobs all the time. I agree with the poster who suggested finding another job, not because of cynicism, but because as a leader this transition will require more fake enthusiasm for the new culture than I am capable of mustering.
If the point system comes back, half of our store colleagues will be terminated.
A new culture isn't going to save Macy's. An assortment that people get excited about might.
Probably best to find another job anyway.
We must all perform at an exceptional level, only to receive a 2.7% raise. Thanks HR.
Think hunger games meets Squid Games.. you will be judged and kept based off your level of skills in the position you were hired in.
Rumor I heard is the point system is coming back.
Um everyone is — even the HR presenter had the nerve to say “ I wasn’t bought in “ at the beginning
If you’re this cynical of the new launch of culture you should find another job.
