Always take the PiP
In CSG tech support someone said they do the PIP or take a package as well. Don’t know how good the package is though.
Pip = no package
Been in the position above you have a choice first is a PIP and then they give you an option of separation package. You are given the details on the call for the PIP which honestly not many make it through. The PIP will start from the call with HR and your manager or if you take the package you have seven days to sign it.
If you take the PIP and fail you leave with nothing. Hope this helps. P.s separation package is paid if you get the call before the payroll cut off otherwise is the following month.
I had a friend who was given the choice of PIP or take a severance and leave. This was in 2022 though and he got off PIP and they laid him off next quarter anyways. He got a bigger payout from the layoff than was offered in the PIP package but not sure of the details for that other than a layoff pays more than a PIP severance.
If it is for a PiP then there is no separation package. Separation packages are for layoffs, not getting let go for the PiP reason.
