Walmart Vision Center’s care model is a joke. It feels like every day they come up with something new, making it harder to just do the job. Instead of allowing us to focus on our work, they keep pushing more and more nonsense, adding unnecessary complications. It would be nice to come in, do my job, and go home without dealing with their constant changes and unrealistic expectations.

Oh, brother. Look, if you’ve got a high school diploma, no criminal record and can string 5 sentences together with correct spelling and punctuation, just go get another job working somewhere else rather than keep staying at Walmart.
If you can’t do the things listed above, probably best to stay at Walmart.
Walmart has d-mbed down optical, unlicensed are just as able as licensed now. Unlicensed should be paid the same as licensed, you can spout that licensed has more training but you both do the same.
The people anti union here have been fed the Walmart juice and unfortunately think they’re being reimbursed for their time correctly. Walmart is now a commissioned based model without the commission, you’re forced to sell things the patient may not need. If you think differently then you’re incredible naive. Selling warranties, multiple pairs and accessories will eventually affect your annual eval and potentially your job.
Firstly, there’s a reason the union trolls keep spouting their lies. They just want everyone to be as sc--w*d as they are. They fell for the union lies and deception and now want you too, as well.
Secondly, there’s a ton of value and potential revenue from eyeware and people love the convenience of Walmart’s eye care business.
Lastly, we frequently see the union shiftless mo--nic lies in this forum. As soon as you see it, you know it’s just BS and everything contained therein is thusly invalidated.
And that’s the way it is.
lol right? Instead of being a jealous knuckle dragger, why don’t you upskill yourself? If she’s making that rate it means she’s a state licensed optician.
Yes because you had an interaction with one (in your opinion) “hateful” lady, the ENTIRE business segment is worthless. LMAO. Tell me you’re ignorant without telling me you’re ignorant.
She’s paid that rate because in order to fit, measure, order and dispense eyewear in your state, she is required to have extensive knowledge of physics and geometry. If you knew the profit margin on eyewear across the industry, at all eyewear retailers, you’d understand why the business segment exists.
Vision Center is a joke. That hateful woman is paid $37 an hour to sit there, is completely useless, can’t be bothered to unlock a case two feet away from her and gets maybe 2 customers a week. Good riddance what a money pit. Talk about morale.
Yes. VCDC is completely useless. The role has DEI quotas written all over it.
There you go. More union bs propaganda. Sure, go ahead. That line of business could be effectively outsourced by the stroke of a pen. Best not bite the hand that feeds you.
I’m surprised opticians aren’t unionizing, they reduced raises to 2.5% while division 1 is getting 3-5% including a years of service raise.
A union wouldn’t have let this happen. They can’t shut all the vision centers down if we all unionize. Visions become the worst run department in the company. Market directors don’t know how to run the business and do not support staff in the stores, VCDC’s is a worthless position and the guy at the top with his calls to VCM’s is completely out of touch with what happens in the stores.
Pretty sure they’re going to lease to Essilor just like Target does.
At a time when Walmart is considering potentially outsourcing the vision care line of business, it’s probably best to figure out what they want and modify behavior to provide it. Just sayin…..
