With a very low market cap BP is a huge opportunity that could be easily acquired. Bigger question is why it has not occurred and that points to the bigger issues that companies portfolio of assets is not viewed as that attractive which points back to poor leadership. If someone does acquire BP you can and should expect a major purge of BP leadership and middle management in order to remove the imbedded lackluster performance culture.

bp's market cap is so low that it seems more realistic. Whether it's Shell or another company. After 4Q announcements the stock will probably tank even more on Feb 11th. Don't be so naive it won't happen. The Amoco/bp merger announcement was very sudden in 1998

It's not arrogance - been hearing Shell and BP for over 20 yrs. Not impossible (never was) but hard to get any excited about until it actually happens

You think the corporate takeover or merger won't happen until you find yourself wearing an Exxon or Shell shirt.

Arrogance like this has put BP and Bpx where it is now.

If I had a dollar for every merger rumor I've read I'd have more money than my reinvent shares are worth.
