Reading all of the comments on this site it is clear that Execs are not the only ones with honesty issues.

The EMC acquistion would have been great if it wasn't business as usual afterwards.
Bought a failing company with lots of talent, but let it keep operating the same way that cause their problem in the first place.

This. You don't get to the top by being honest or nice. These people are predators and parasites more often than not.
Because they’re not honest people. The leadership at Dell, including most SVPs are fundamentally not good people. That’s how they’ve made it that far.
Making ready for sale?
EMC acquisition made some nice money for him with the vmware spin off. I'd imagine he's fairly happy with his bank balance. As for the actual rest of the company, not sure he cares
These leaders pretend to be honest, in reality they are never honest, never transparent about any business decisions.
MSD is blatant about turning every opportunity in his favour to make more money.. be it making the headlines about continued remote work strategy back in 2022 or trying to arm twist all his workforce to RTO in 2025… there is vested interest and it’s always about their desire to make more money.. how it impacts others or what does it mean to his 120k employees across the global is least of his concern..
