Harv promotes his friends that have achieved nothing in their time here. Meanwhile, the rest of you worry about looming layoffs.

GK IS the problem. in 10 years since he joined, he made terrible hire after terrible hire at the top exec leadership (as exemplified by the musical chair of people coming in, getting millions of $ of stock options, only to last a couple years.

In the process, they come out with terrible ideas and acquisitions like Solidfire, Spot, CloudJumper, various other cloud startups, launching systems doomed to fail like ASA, overpivoting on cloud.

Miscalculations on thinking that DEI and discriminatory recruiting people based on their skin color, gender or accent is more important than purely merit. Laying off people based on their age because they mistakenly feel they can be replaced with kids straight out of college.

And that is why the company has been a $6B company and stopped growing for the past decade, since the moment GK took office. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

Cesar is doing the same. These leaders are unaware and unwilling to understand NetApps strengths. Instead we are reinventing mini Microsoft, and everyone has to do what is requested or go on a pip.

If you all were smart, you would stop caring so much about NetApp and start caring about your own hide. If they say jump, jump. If they say bark like a dog, then bark like a dog. Unless you are inner circle, your suggestions don’t matter no matter how right you are.

They say communism takes the wind out of everyone’s sails and makes people apathetic, but sh---y management does too.

GK doesn’t know what to do. Doesn’t know what he is doing. He wouldn’t have brought on Harv if he was competent. He wouldn’t give Harv free reign to ruin product if he knew what was going on.

GK knows what he needs to do but he can’t do it without coming across as a dictator. A good VP house cleaning is due. A lot of F10 execs came over and have accomplished nothing. I believe the saying is, measuring contest?

Harv is an example of who you know, not what you know. He brought with him the lowest performers from Microsoft. He pushed out Rick Scurfield who had the respect of the sales org.

Yes, Harv is part of the problem, not a solution.

Not trying to debate but is Harv really the problem? Perhaps others under GK are the issue. For example, wasn't the HR executive let go within 6 months (I still don't know what happened there but she didn't last long).

What would GK do?

It's really sad to see how much damage Harv and his friends have done to the company during the past two years. Sure, a few of them bring lots of experience and skills from Amazon, Salesforce, Microsoft, etc. However, not a single one of them seems to understand NetApp's strengths, values and culture. The amount of toxicity and stupidity they keep bringing to the company is insane.
