Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

TRUIST CULTURE

YOUR COMPANY CULTURE IS
NOT WORDS ON YOUR WEBSITE
OR POSTERS ON THE WALL.
IT'S HOW YOUR PEOPLE FEEL
ON A SUNDAY NIGHT.

“ So many talented people pushed out the door due to this toxic culture.”

True. And not just out of the bank, but also out of horribly mismanaged former subsidiaries, including insurance, both while with the bank, as well as after the sale to private equity.

@1hk+1jjzqxgc7, nicely stated. It's even worse when your the one that did the most, alone during the merger/pandemic. I was ready to move on from that and to the next place to do my best at. Then it became clear I was being surveilled, stalked, and harassed with some false narrative. I guess because I'm a peasant, I didn't deserve rights.

Make no mistake, what is done to the teammates isn't some short sight, it is deliberate.

This quote below is very true of what I have seen here since merger. So many talented people pushed out the door due to this toxic culture. So many good people belittled and beat down by narcissistic executives. So many productive people pushed out the door and then slandered for trying to be the voice of common sense and compassion.

“When you terminate an employee due to performance or office politics or push them to resign by creating a toxic work environment, remember this: they will move on. In 2-3 months, they will find a better opportunity and thrive. But they will never forget how you treated them—how you shouted, humiliated, and misunderstood them because your ego stopped you from communicating with empathy.

A toxic work environment doesn’t just affect an employee’s mental health; it ki-ls productivity, crushes passion, and turns even the most dedicated workers into people who just ‘get through the day.’”

Sunday night means stay up until 3 working on personal projects, and then be present in body only for the first half of Monday.

I just saw this meme as well…

Related to this bank, there is no culture (unless you call the executives looking out for themselves only a culture), there is no leadership, there are hardly any good employees left. This bank has the worst reputation which is a huge accomplishment in this day and age with all of our competition. The good teammates still here are checked out and just working for a paycheck, or they are too new to realize the mess they are in, or they are so close to retirement they are just going to stick it out. Senior Executives here are all selfish, self centered and self seeking and do not care about the rest of us. Culture here died when two good institutions merged into this joke of a bank.

Wachovia used to make us keep culture cards on us so leadership could check and see if we had them in our wallets. Lol. Meanwhile people opening fake accounts and the same leaders turning their heads. Wonder if any of them are here?

Unfortunately on Sunday evenings I start feeling the dread of Monday morning being so close and having to deal with the BS again.

OP: The single best post on this site. Ever. I’ve been on here for maybe a year. Great, great words to lead by; thank you.

According to our Retail Region Leader, he said to us that doing what is right has been a challenge at Truist for many and that’s why we are moving to a regional based incentive. Could you imagine an employer explaining the culture of bad sales practices and poor ethics leading to circumstances where people can’t be paid based on their contributions. I have a local bank that serve’s the local Alabama agricultural community and they pay everyone based on their individual contributions. I think it’s the leadership at Truist that needs a checkup.
