Anyway not many regular people 55 and older as most of them were packaged in 2019 & 2020.

Agreed. Apache is not offering early retirement or voluntary severance of any kind. If you are eligible to retire you will only be given a choice of the package or regular retirement if you get laid off.

MM will not pay you extra for something you already want yo do.

Expect no package leaving. It's only provided to reduce the risk of winning an employment lawsuit you could bring. In today's environment, why wouldn't they roll the dice and see how you do?

I guess it will happen before the 27th so they can brag about it on the earnings call.

True statement. Ultimately, RIF will be in the 30-40% range.

Little do you know that the whole company is about to have a major shakeup. All departments, mostly in the Houston office.

Such a shame, longevity, dedicated employees mean nothing to this company! Yet they keep the toxic ones, who falsified their resume/application (ofc employees)

Hmm, so the employees working in the field are the ones facing cuts? What about the excessive overhead in the office, where some were hired with inflated salaries? For example, the Procurement Manager (C Mc), who was brought in at a high salary, seems like an unnecessary expense. Looks like the office cuts were not enough! and accounting too!

Wait until you get the 2020 WARN letter like the SA office received. On a weekend. Delivered by certified mail. That was epic.

I wonder: If you take the package over retirement are still bound to any non-compete? Also, can also apply for unemployment? I assume no/yes.

If you are eligible for retirement, you have a choice to take that benefit (meaning continue to vest your equity over the next several years, like you would if you just retired) or take the severance package. Thats what they said in townhall and that's what the FAQ says. Whether or not that makes sense for you probably depends on how long you have been here/how old you are vs how much your severance package is.

Not sure where you're getting your information from but the UK in general did not get offered a year's pay to leave. Payouts were based on time served.
