The reason for this is simple.
Dell plans on cutting 20,000 employees in the next year.So instead paying off valued staff off they want us to leave.Think of it.Why pay staff who moan and complain about workers rights, fair working conditions, holiday leave and so on when they think AI chatbots can take a huge chunk of that work.
Now I know its wrong but its Dell's overall plan.Cut the headcount.
Make it so miserable we leave on our own.

We should strike, at least show some resistance before we are sla-ghtered...!!!
They know tech market is soft worldwide.
I agree. This is just a easy way to offload some of those 20k indirectly.
From someone who got unceremoniously WFR'ed after 24 years, even after busting my a-s and RTO 4-5 days a week....do yourself a favor and get into active job search mode. The way that Dell operates and reorgs constantly does not line up well with the skills and job requirements of a big chunk of the job market. Dell maps more cleanly to huge tech companies, and those companies are not really hiring domestically. You have to face up to your skill gaps and start working on them now. Modernize with PowerBi, aI, PowerQuery, and industry certifications. I stuck with Dell way too long and ended up with experience in the last 3 years or so that nobody gave a damn about. It took some work to get past that, and I wish I had started earlier.
I say Sorry first.
I need to pay my mortgage. I have 2 college kids. And I have outdated skill after in Dell 10+y.
I can go to office 5 days or 7 days a week as long as Dell request me to do it.
I agree Dell treats employee like trash but I don't have much choose because I am the bread winer in family.
I believe someday Dell will eventually kick me out but I just want to stay here as long as possible.
5 days RTO can force more people to leave but this is what I need.
If you guys are talent and have a good skill, please just go out to find a new job.
In this case, more people leave by themselves, dell may layoff less people and my job is secured.
I believe lot of people in Dell welcome 5day RTO like me.
I did my part already and left earlier this month. I'm sorry for everyone who is effected, unless you were one of those je-ks on here in September laughing that sales caused this cause they don't sell... you deserve all the pain for being a je-k. 😬😈🤪
unionize! let the tshirts fear the unions!
Exactly this. As the market improves I hope that this bites them in the @ss and 50K people leave for greener pastures.
