The EC made a big deal that they took the bold step of reducing their own BPF due to safety issues. Notice that they did not tell us how much it is reduced. Well, it turns out that they reduced it from 1.64 to 1.61. How bold!

Serious question - is 1.64 the highest BPF we’ve ever gotten? I’ve only been at Shell for 8 years, so I missed out on the golden years post Transition ‘09
it’s a shame we have to go through all this due to the reduction in waels genitals
If you ever wondered what us employees are worth to this sh*t company. The life of few and the mental anguish of many, that’s worth 2% of their bonus or probably about maybe 1% their annual compensation …
Huh?
That is incorrect. If you take the 2.0 score from "personnel safety", it is only a 0.015 reduction. Round that to 0.02, and you get a whopping decrease from 1.64 to 1.62.
Also note that the 1.64 will apply to the rest of the employee population, so the remaining 80k employees are not technically impacted.
Excellent! EC lowering their own BPF just sc--wed the rest of the 80k employees. Since BPF is calculated into the bonus, those with forced lower ratings and lower BM were at least going to get back some of that money the EC stole from them but guess what? No longer! I’m so glad they didn’t need that extra bit. You don’t want them to go hungry. 10M salary for Wael is tight in this economy. This is approaching fraudulent territory.
Before doing so, the EC polled around the table to ensure no one needed the little extra for a family ski holiday, that 3rd vacation home, etc. Everyone signaled they’re good.
Boldly going where no EC has gone before.
