why elimanate ap in a store makes no sense they are not paid alot.

It's kinda strange a " non-go forward" store and the store is not closing. This July the company will put the list of the remaining " non- go- forward" stores that are closing.
AP eliminated in my store, we are a go forward store (Not Closing) but still lost both of the AP people.
AP doesn’t do anything about the safety of the workers the only job of AP is to prevent theft.

So if the company eliminated Asset Protection colleagues in your store that means that your store closing within a year or two.
The stores that are being closed are called "non - go - forward" store locations. The strategy aims to make Macy's more profitable and sustainable by closing underperforming stores and investing in the remaining ones.
Eliminateing AP employees in several Macy's department stores doesn't make sense. Sounds to me that the company doesn't care about the safety of their own employees.
So what does that mean a non go forward store? Our store got 2 Assets Protection colleagues eliminated. This never happen before, colleagues in our store are nervous and worry about this change. None of our managers and captains won't say anything about this.
Any location that has AP eliminated, is a non go forward store.
My store got AP back in store in late 2023 after not having any AP for a few years.
