Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel doing much better now that they shed the dead weight.

Another few quarters of performance management should enable the company to sustain profits even as revenues remain flat.

I bet many companies are approaching Foundry, to prepare for the semiconductor tariffs which appear to be ready to happen soon.

Tariffs are how you bear mercantilist countries, because they will never stop subsidizing in order to steal growth from the USA.

Chips Act was the Socialist response. Tariffs are the effective response.

I don’t understand what is better for Intel. No CEO and even worst than 4 or 5 years ago when Bob S COO became a CEO.

It was some gloom but at least not much doom. Seems to be on the right trajectory? the message is we will break even in our weakest earning quarter - q1, and then we start making profits?

Is it really? The stock is way down compared to where it was last year.

What did the people remaining do in Q4? Did you use & steal what was done before?

The stock shows why being cynical and seeing nothing but weakness and threats is no way to trade.

Not to say the company has turned the corner, and it may never do that, but some were somehow expecting the business to collapse and rumors of the death of Intel are greatly exaggerated.

Also helpful to know for those concerned about mass layoffs. It would be really unusual for the company to do that in sequential quarters, but they will certainly continue to reduce headcount where costs remain too high or the headcount is not needed.

Thanks a lot Dave for your encouraging remarks!! You sound like we are totally out of the woods and Intel is beating competition in all markets. Numbers say guidance is down, layoffs may also happen.
