Comcast is laying off employees in batches to avoid the WARN Act requirements, showing zero regard for their workforce. Engineering is being outsourced to India while leadership remains in the US—mostly white men with a few tokens sprinkled in for optics. They treat people like numbers, not humans. It’s clear their priorities lie elsewhere, but karma has a way of catching up. F U COMCAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is because the cost of the offshore and the HB1 is crazy expensive. Hiring 1 million offshore and 100k HB1 costs more than 5k USA people. Even 5k USA is more than required to run this company. The layoffs will accelerate due to the crazy cost. The customers will not pay for internet and just go use the library or the work internet. Kinda sad but the companies can't stay in busin with a crazy high cost. The customers control wether a company exists nowdays...... not the shareholders... nothing the shareholders can do at all. Bummer man cause all people needed in the old days was 10Mbit internet. It did the job and it was low cost.
It seems the "token" DEI support philosophy observation also applies to NBCUniversal. There's just on C-level guy there who puts out annual training plus comms on a very limited basis. And speaking of engineering work going to the Comcast CIEC in India, all of NBCUniversal and whatever remains of Sky can expect to be asked what they can send to the CIEC and how quickly can that happen.
