When I was laid off there was no calendar invite or email. Just a call from the boss saying can you hold on I have to add someone to the call, then BAM he hit a car and hung up! An hour later he called with HR already on the phone. When they said I was laid off I put the phone on mute and did a happy yell and dance then unmuted my phone. I asked a couple of questions, I was ecstatic over the comp package, and that night packed my stuff to return to Dell although I had two weeks before my last day. Don't get me wrong, I like Dell and was proud to work there but it had gotten incredibly grinding and my work/life balance was cr-p. Loved my coworkers (we're all still friends), loved the company, loved the package, and I think highly of Michael Dell.

When i got "update on role" they moved me from DCSE to AE. When I got "business update" I got the layoff.

Lucky you… When the got laid off, my director put, “catching up” in the calendar invite with only me and him in the list of attendees.
Then I saw HR join the call shortly… Knew what was going on instantly. It was not a simple, “catching up”.
Are u remote? And maybe your status is going to change to non-remote?
