Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Heads up Malta

Heads up, they are going to be pulling out of fab times at the end of each quarter. It's part of the manager KPI now.

Hr has been doing it already monthly since 2024. But this year they will also use it as a metric against your msm. If msm isn't pulling the data and acting on it, mark against msm. Expect to see turnover there.

Ah yes, reward the ones with tools that won’t run, brilliant!

Reminds me of the time, in WWII, they looked at returning planes, to determine where to add armor.

New century, same I-D-10-T’s

We only use that data for tie-breaker layoffs

@c9 You focused right on the actual issue. They need to fund vendor contracts for meaningful software updates and hire more automation engineers. Instead they open offices overseas and try to replace people on the process and operations sides. Attrition of good tool owners doesn't help either.

If they are trying to measure how much work a person does there are way better options.

Just go swipe your badge at the turnstile once in awhille. When the company gets this petty you know the end is near.

Good. Should have been done a decade ago, especially for those always running to and from the smoke shack every 20 minutes.
