Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Don't waste too much time at Dell

Most of the talented people left here a long time ago. The rest are unfortunately stuck here. It's unfortunate that many people don't take their careers into their own hands, but instead waste their time here panicking about layoff rumors. It is much wiser to look for a way out of here than to wait for bad news about layoffs.

nah all depends on what you want and how you want it, Dell as any other tech company allows you to find the spot to thrive in. there is a lot going on, and good things are being done.
as a general comment, the grass always looks greener on the other side, well there is a reason for it, there is more sh-t laying around.

it all boils down to your path and how you define your role.

I have been through many companies, and the only companies that stifled this, made it impossible to grow or work out your own path, I left within 2 years. while others that allow the freedom to develop and have impact I stayed as long as it lasts.

A few things.

  1. Dell is the same as any other fortune 500 OEM company.
  2. As in point 1. there are good places to work in any company
  3. People who try to tell other people that they should be miserable and post things like this are just looking for company.

right, same people would be complaining about their next company. Some people just like to whine, it's what they do best.

many are comfortable where they are and why leave when they can be culled. They call it friends etc and then when they get laid off Dell folks do turn their back on them.
Betrayals are plenty, hard for many to observe.
