This doesn't bode well for the rest of the year. At all. I'm worried we might be seeing quarterly layoffs from now on, if not even more often than that.

When they changed the name from HR to “Human Capital” and then “People Team”, it didn’t fool most of us. We know this is a ruthless company who cares not if people live or die. They don’t care about our health, our families, or our lives. It’s given more of us are speaking out and it needs to continue.
There is no human capital at UHG. They rather see entire departments rifted then trying to figure out how to best redeploy resources to drive revenue or reduce ops costs. If you have a leader not kissing as to their leader, consider be on the chopping block. If you have leader who does not control their own expense or no business partner willing to fund you, start updating your resume. Success of your 32 matter and if you have a dud, get away if you can to another group.
Well you have at least 3 more to go in 2025 buckle up
Layoffs are weekly, you just felt this one due to volume.
you must be new here lmaoooooo
There has been quarterly layoffs for the last few years it just hasn’t been as big as the one last week. It’s normally a handful of people sprinkled throughout every department be it Optum, UHG or UHC, and they normally try to transfer people to different departments I remember going to a career growth thing before they dismantled the people Team and there were a lot who were told since their department was experiencing cuts they’re resume/ applications are flagged to be prioritized for internal hires. But they no longer have the People Team like they did last year and I guess not many were given the speech of reapplying internally and getting prioritized or they just don’t care to keep those who were let go. It’s even more severe this time because of the whole Luigi fiasco and the the huge spotlight that has been shed on the company and their shareholders which has highlighted the massive flaws and the absolute abysmal treatment of their employees and members. This company has been problematic for a while it’s just harder to ignore now.
