Target rolls back DEI

Target announced that they are pulling back from their aggressive DEI goals, meanwhile Cargill has said they are standing firm.
Where is our CHRO from again?

DEI is formalized discrimination.

There are dozens and dozens of employees at Cargill with 6 figure+ salaries who survived the layoff and their jobs revolve around DEI. Think about every high performer and valuable employee that was let go recently while others have maintained their jobs in areas such as "supplier diversity", which exist solely to make us purchase more from anyone but a White Male-owned business, even if its at a higher cost or lower service level (almost always the case).

DEI initiatives/roles are well-intended, but there are always trade-offs and unintended consequences. Many companies like Target are beginning to do the math and scale back.

All for DEI if it's IED, includes everyone definitively. Cargill’s does not. It’s DEI through omission. Let’s celebrate everyone but any of the majority groups, because you know, the company would continue just the same if they weren’t there.

By the way, this is part of the dynamic as to how Trump received so many votes from young male voters. They are tired of being made to feel badly for being male.

Maybe one day the company will also celebrate International Men’s Day.

I hope she continues to stand firm but also works to improve our DEI initiatives. We’re already not very diverse and we haven’t done much with the initiatives that we already have in place.

Why would anyone want to work for Cargill, it might have been desirable way back when now is melting pot of spineless leaders and mediocre middle managers stewing it failure
