My team doesn't know I was laid off. Do I tell them during this 2 week period or does my boss?

they are some managers weak, scared about their positions, my manager didn’t call me for a months now, she always cancel monthly meeting, I do my daily work and I exceed weekly goal, I’m sure she will not call or msg me on my last day 2/6. I’m outsider to the team
Optum didn’t even let Dr send out letters to patients saying that they would no longer be with the group. So patients felt abandoned.
But the doctors I know told their patients exactly what happened. Optum, you’re not getting away with letting go quality people, without anyone finding out.
People are not allowed to communicate anything to the team. I have the best manager in the world, but she was only allowed to say "our team was impacted, however out of respect for those people, we will not be sharing their names." Which felt like "there was an earthquake and parts of your family died, but out of respect we wont say who"
I would tell the team so they can make preparations ahead of time. Least I could do.
They don't have the guts to communicate anyone and it is also a tactic to prevent answering questions to the employees that were not impacted. People will find out when they try to send you an email, and the system kicks it back as undeliverable.
CM?
A boss that doesn't tell the rest of the team is an absolute disgrace!
I know leadership likes to pretend layoffs didn't happen, but never heard of direct teammates not being told!
My manager told my team I got the boot 🤷🏻♀️
Based on experience, some managers will not disclose unless directly asked by teammates. I personally would notify my team if no prohibitions and as long as severance will not be jeopardized. It’s up to them how they would take that news.
they aren’t going to announce it….. if you want to tell people that’s your business but optum likes to act like nothing happened
