Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Future of Home and Community (former Navihealth)

What have you heard? Will we be wiped totally? Seems like they are doing it slowly but steadily. Those who have heard anything, please share.

I think the NaviHealth division may be more of a liability than an asset at this point. The NH Predict software has caused more headaches than help, and it seems like the integration hasn’t gone as smoothly as expected. In fact, it might be a sign that UHG/Optum could end up reverting to the way things were run before, especially if the software continues to fall short of expectations. Rather than streamlining processes, it’s created additional complications, and there’s a real possibility they’ll go back to relying on the previous systems that worked better.

Yes, it’s possible that acquiring Navi could be a strategic move for the proprietary software, especially if they’re planning to optimize or automate review processes. UHG/Optum already has significant resources and infrastructure in the healthcare space, so integrating Navi’s software could help streamline operations and reduce reliance on human reviewers over time. If the goal is efficiency or cost-cutting, automating these processes through software could lead to fewer human reviewers being needed. However, it’s also possible that the acquisition is part of a larger strategy to integrate the services rather than completely replace staff. It really depends on how they plan to leverage that technology in the long run.

So just following up with some of the posts, do y’all think they acquired Navi just for the proprietary software with the ultimate plan of replacing us all with UHG/Optum reviewers?

Have they said what providers will do for reviews after 3/31? Any notice come from uhc? I wonder what they are telling providers

You have to go back further than that. Once the merger happened in Dec 2021, Clay put out the announcement that he was leaving.

So they acquired Navihealth just to be wipe. That’s what they did with Harrison former CEO. Email was sent just to serve as a “graceful exit.” But in truth, CEO was laid off.

They will slowly wipe out every department and fill with UHG reviewers. Just like the did with HH.

Probably? I don’t know anything, but my thought is that they will lose the contract with UHC eventually for SNF/IRF/LTAC just like they did with HH. Optum has reviewers already. Lots of them. They can do that job. They don’t need navi doing that work. There’s already been contracts lost so I feel like everyone else (Humana, regional, etc) will pull out eventually too.
