I’m one of the people who was laid off. It’s a blow, and I’m scared for my future—wondering how, or even if, I’ll be able to help support my family. But at the same time, I feel genuinely liberated. Towards the end, I hated my job. I started grappling with serious ethical concerns about how we were being instructed to handle clients. I may be unemployed and uncertain about what comes next, but at least I no longer have to put myself through a job that felt uncomfortable on such a personal level. Good luck to the rest of you, both jobless and still employed, and don’t let any corporation steal your soul.

You will find something or go temping for sometime. But I am finding that is taking over 2 months to detoxify from such a toxic working environment, including recovering normal sleeping patterns, to retaliatory and abusive behaviors from managers. The constant worry that you are next, all these layoffs affect you focus, by consequence your productivity. I hope someday they go through the stress and losing members due to the unsatisfied customers due their decision of offshoring 80% of the USA workforce. In this company you are just a number. Who knew that a little bit over a month of being mu---red Brian Thompson would have been replaced with another CEO? The president of this company and board of directors are only worried about themselves, their salaries and millionaire bonuses. The loss of jobs are only a casualty to their greed.
I know people who came to Optum after being let go by H. I undestand people needs jobs quickly in this economy, but it is probably more unsable than Optum.
If I’m assuming correctly who H that ends with A is - they have been acquired by UHC. Uncertain to what extent but what I’m sure of is several H-A Medicare advantage is being managed by Navi/home and community. Some states did not renew contract in 2025.

Please don’t go to the competitor that starts with an H and ends with an A. Things are really bad there and they aren’t right morally or ethically. They will lay you off and make you work like a slave during the notice period. They are absolutely evil.
