DEI going away at Macy’s?

Was wondering if Macy’s is going to head in this direction. Target announced this today and there are already massive boycotts and calls for boycotts across all social media platforms. This is going to hurt black owned businesses who have partnerships with retailers. This is also going to really hurt business for everyone. I really hope Macy’s stands up against doing this.

Abigail James, SVP of DEI at Macy's is still listed in the company's address book. Her LinkedIn page shows that title as well.

Most of the best talent has already left Macy's due to them being passed up for promotions.
Jeffrey destroyed the bench strength that Macy's once had.

Dei, yeah that's my guess. We have sign in our store "changes coming Feb 13" and next to it a sign that says 'for one, this sign will change' with the words a 'new culture' underneath it.

Was told merit based reviews are coming back. No more everyone getting the same just because it’s fair.

I hope it goes away. Merit based is the best way to go and common sense. I don’t care what gender, race, creed you are. If you come in, work hard and able to handle the position then I want you on my team. Many companies and our government even, not just Macys going away from DEI

If DEI "goes away" they will probably do it quietly and fold it into other cuts as opposed to a big announcement.

Correct. As far as I know being a people leader in store, All vinyl/posters BOH were removed and on a purge list provided by corporate. Including the DEI initiative.
