Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Not an employee but a policy holder

I am not employed with UnitedHealth Care or Optum but I have insurance through them and was told about this website via the grapevine. I’m sure I have no right to post but after reading a few of them and the replies I have taken screen shots and plan to send it to my local news station and post it in Facebook. I’m an old cranky person who needs my medication refilled and the insurance is making it impossible to do so. Keep fighting young folk. My generation is old and tired but you’re young and will soon be taking the places of these elites. So fight for what’s right, for us elderly now and your children in the future.

OPTUM acquired their PBM so that they could jack up the price of some of the commonly prescribed dr-gs. I read where the price of Tadalafil (HTN dr-g) increased by 1200% since OPTUM now managing their own pharmacy line (Optum Rx). Greedy ba----ds don't give a cr-p about the health of their members!

Nothing will happen all the insurers playing the same game. If it makes you happy that you are important and have any stroke carry on. The source of the problem is those providing care with the outrageous pricing. Thank the AMA for plotting back in the 90s to keep the pool of medical professionals low to keep prices up. Have to admit they have the best PR campaign ever. They are the ones knifing you in the back with a smile but you still think they are angels. Suing shareholders I sp-t out my coffee reading that one. Clueless

You should look into offshore employees, specifically in India, are given access to PHI and PI (names, addresses, social security numbers, etc) on restricted policies, specifically the ones that require onshore review. Could be fun.

I know I read a few replies about offshore employees in the same countries who hack and scam Americans handle sensitive information. Makes one wonder. If u could sue the shareholders personally I would I wish they would know we all think they are less than dirt

Unfortunately anyone who would do anything is offshore. Almost all of management is offshore. I’d say probably 60-70%. Your data is being handled by non us citizens, any offshore user can access your extremely private info in seconds

The place is toxic. They do not care about employees or insureds. They only care about the dollars in the shareholder pockets. You are not alone in fighting for care. As an employee I had to fight hard to get my child the care needed. Imagine dedicating years and years and years to an insurance company and then have to fight to use the benefits. They are disgusting.
