That refers to the October layoffs. I knew someone who was one of them. They put them on 2 months paid admin leave in order to be in compliance with Warn

In October 2024, it said Walgreens would lay off an additional 255 workers beginning in late December. So this means more cuts are happening? Or does this refer to the October corporate cuts?

Under Illinois law, employers are required to give 60 day notice to the state if they are planning mass layoffs. These are called WARN notices.

The IL WARN notices were updated from October stating 255 people will be laid off starting 12/29/2024, and the cause is restructuring.

He needs to fire TB immediately. And get rid of DEI BS.

If Tim wants to turn Walgreens around, he should immediately fire Neal and bring someone else who understands technology.

Tim may be earnest in his efforts to turn Walgreens but it'll take time. The company treated it's employees like garbage, failed to adapt to changing trends, and update technology for so long (not to mention all the oploid lawsuits) that it will take a major feat to save Walgreens. Hopefully things will turn around soon.

I don’t know TB, but I see how Walgreens stores have challenges. Soma part of the challenges are because lack up necessary technology which would be Neal. Rest would be TB. Walgreens leadership has issue. Neal, TB, doesn’t matter which org we are. If you come under Neal, let me tell you what he does, he doesn’t take anything serious, he answer questions with jokes. He goes to resorts and expensive bars with his leadership friend team. He is not trustworthy leader, he used previous situation here to find excuses for his behaviors. His words are different than his actions. He created a very secure environment around himself by bringing all his friends here. Maggie is his admin, she is part of his family, rest of his leadership team are from Milwaukee, he has few random places to fool us. Never trust him.

This seems like the same people complaining about Neal. There are bigger, bigger issues under TB’s org. Why is she still here? What “reorg” is going to happen?

Big issue at Walgreens is not layoffs, issue is there is no resect to employees, there is no transparency, no one knows what they do, only Tim, his friends and friends of friends know. Issue is company doesn’t have future. In the near by future, there won’t be Walgreens. Look at yourself, see if every morning you are excited and happy to start your work? I don’t think many of us are happy and excited. Everything is dilemma and there is no progress here. Have you ever look at new Neal’s interview? He believed on KTLO. It means he doesn’t do anything, he doesn’t improve anything. Walgreens is old, like other places, it needs to be adopted with new technologies not to have KTLO. If you are passionate and feel you can use your skills and knowledge in a good place, definitely Walgreens is not the right one. We deserve better than this, all of us, those close to retirement or the very young ones, doesn’t matter how old you are. Sometimes we need to have a new start to make it better for ourselves and our families

People are not happy. You won’t leave just because of layoffs, you leave because you are not happy there

Well, I guess we will just see if anything under TB's org happens.

I left the company recently, I can share how much happy I am. New place is great, no politics like Walgreens. Great culture and great respect to people like me. We all deserve better. Leave and make your life happier. If you say there is no job, it’s not true, there are many great jobs outside. For few weeks, it would be hard, you may have stress, but all are with excitement to have better future. Doesn’t matter how old you are, it matters how much you believe on yourself. You are the only one can end this pain for yourself, do what is good for you and good luck!

Well said, @b5+1jjcjvqq2.

The original post stated that layoffs under TB's org would happen Jan. 31. Whoever posted that, if that was unfounded, shame on you.

No one is buying Walgreens. No bank is going to finance the crazy amount of debt the company carries. Anyone who thinks they are getting bought is literally insane. Walgreens will go under on its own unless something changes.

I’m not saying the posts on here aren’t valid because they’ve certainly predicted a few rounds of layoffs, but does anyone else feel like it’s the same few keyboard warriors posting over and over? Even looking at the words they use, the dictation they use etc. from the sound of it probably some IT people who did not take the layoffs well (whether they are or aren’t still with the company). Walgreens is such a large company that the culture amongst different groups can vary so much. I’m on the merchandising side and I literally had to google who Neal, Angie and Maggie were. I’m not saying we don’t have our own problems (cough TB cough) but I feel like we are getting a much more positive message. Sharing info and venting is part of this website I get it. But please be careful with rumors that you can’t back up. This is literally people’s livelihoods. We can’t be naive to what’s happening but constantly saying they’re are going to be layoffs with nothing to back it up causes people a lot of anxiety.

OK even if they sell the company, you have no idea what is going to happen. They cannot layoff everyone, so these post get out soon are ridiculous. All large companies hire and layoff that's the way it works, even smaller companies do the same.

They're really selling the company? Who has CONCRETE info?

They won’t layoff now, they do it after finalizing the sell. That’s why leave asap before they sell the company
